Premature death rate
Premature death rates of Jersey residents (per 1,000 population), calculated over 3 year intervals: male, female and all.
A premature death is one defined as occurring before a person's 75th birthday.
The rates are age-standardised, calculated using the number of deaths each year as the numerator, and the mid-year population estimate for that year as the denominator. The rates are calculated over three years as insufficient numbers of premature deaths occur in a single year to allow age standardisation.
The latest reports on mortality and life expectancy are available here on gov.je.
