Work permits issued annually by type
This data shows the number of work permits issued annually, by type.
All persons who are not British or Irish require immigration permission to work in Jersey and work permits are issued to employers of overseas nationals on a temporary or long-term basis.
Jersey work permits are categorized into two main categories: • Long-term work permits enable the holder to accrue time towards settlement (indefinite leave to remain). • Temporary work permits are for short periods (typically 9 or 12 months) and don’t lead to settlement.
